There was information that the validity of the passport, to visit the country, from the summer of 2012, should be at least 6 months. Is it true?

Since recently, this requirement has been canceled - the passport should simply be valid for the entire trip. (Information as of 13.12.2012)

Yes. From 01.06.2012 the validity of the passport must be STRICTLY at least 6 months after the end of the trip to the Dominican Republic.
