Do I need a visa in my case? I individually fly to Hainan to Haikou airport from Singapore for 10 days. The last departure from China was in April 2013, as part of the tour group.

In your case, in order to avoid problems with checking in for a flight in Singapore, it is advisable to obtain an individual Chinese visa in advance (pasted in a passport).
