Hello! I'm flying to Israel for acquaintances from 1 to 11 September 2013. Do I have to have an invitation letter with me or preferably? I have no invitations, Israeli friends assure me that the invitation is not necessary, they consulted in a local travel agency, I will live at their home. Will I have problems without an invitation to arrive in Israel? I will be met at the airport. Nowhere is there an exact answer! Answer please!
Responds Ekaterina Bobrova, the head of the Israeli department of the company "Russian Express"
An invitation is better to have on hand. It is not an obligatory document for entering the country. But, since you will not have documents to prove your place of residence in Israel, it is better to have this document.
The final decision on the entry of a foreign citizen into the country is taken by a border guard officer. If, nevertheless, it comes to him to ask where and to whom you are going, and you will not have confirmation, then most likely, you will not get in.
The invitation is a handwritten text on a photocopy of the internal passport of the inviter. It can be sent by fax or scanned and sent by mail. It is not necessary to notarize anything. I do not think that getting such a document is a big problem.
