The island of Mahe is the main and largest island of the archipelago, most often visited by tourists. Here is the international airport, so the transfer will not be long.

In the capital of the island - Victoria - there is an information office for tourists. Address: Independance Ave, phone: 610 800, opening hours: Mon-Fri 8: 00-17: 00, Sat 9: 00-12: 00.

Funny moment: the capital of the island of Victoria, all the locals call simply "the city" . This is understandable, because this is one of the few settlements on the island, besides the largest one.

The west coast of Mahe is more wild, picturesque and rich in beaches. The road leading from Anse Takamaka Bay to Port Launay is famous for its gorgeous views to the coast, where everyone can look out for a bay and a beach to taste. From here it is also easy to get to the east coast of the island along the picturesque roads that pass through the center of the island. In the local cove Polis Bay, for example, do not swim - it's dangerous. But from here you have amazing views of surfers, it's worth taking a picnic basket with you.

Further to the west are the excellent beaches of Ans-Takamaka, Ans-Gollet and Ans-a-la-Mouche. It is more difficult to get to the isolated beaches of Ans-Soleil and Ans-Pty - you need a jeep, but the beaches and the sea, covered with palm trees, full of sea life, deserve it. The Grand Anse beach is suitable for surfers with good waves, but from May to September there must be careful - the water is very restless because of the monsoons. In addition, on this beach runs the riding school Utetangar Riding Center (phone: 712-355, an hour drive - 40 euros).

The most beautiful beach of the island is Ans Intendans in the south-west - a five-hundred-meter-long sandy arc, bordered by coconut palms.
