How to get to
The castle is on a hill, exactly 10 km from the highway Homs - Tartus. At the foot of Krak-de-Chevalier there is the village of Hosn, where all minibuses with tourists arrive. Daily, on the morning there are minibuses from Homs (25 SYP), drivers who, in a friendly mood, can throw up to the castle itself. On the way back they depart from 7 am to 3 pm, as soon as the buses are full, there is no clear timetable. For 25 SYP they can drive up behind the tourist to the La Table Ronde hotel, ask at the reception.
The only way to get to Tartous without any transfers is by taxi (600-700 SYP one way), or take the bus to Homs (25 SYP), get off at the Qala'at al-Hosn stop, where tourists are usually picked up by buses to the castle (plus another 25 SYP).
A taxi from Damascus will cost at least 3000 SYP round trip.
