The flight of Alaska Airlines from Los Angeles to Portland was delayed for about an hour due to the fact that one of the passengers was bitten by a scorpion.
The incident occurred when the aircraft taxied to the runway, resulting in pilots had to return the aircraft to the airport terminal. The passengers were inspected by the medical personnel, the flight attendants killed the insect. The victim refused further treatment and return on board, and the plane flew to its destination about an hour later, after the cabin was checked for possible being inside other uninvited guests.
Representatives of the airline can not say how the scorpion got on the plane, but it is known that the plane flew to Los Angeles earlier from the Mexican city of Los Cabos.
