The largest city of East Flanders is preparing to host the Light Festival Gent Light Festival from January 29 to February 1, 2015 The event will be held 3 times already. It is planned that the holiday will be held regularly, once in 3 years.

Within 4 days of the festival the center of Ghent will be decorated with light installations of 44 artists. The main action will take place in the heart of the medieval town, on St. Peter's Square. The theme of this holiday will be science, and the partner of the event will be Ghent University.

In parallel with the Light Festival Gent, the city is preparing to host an exhibition dedicated to light design and electricity, which will feature more than 300 objects on a given topic.
