I want to travel on my own in China, fly Moscow - Beijing, Beijing - Shanghai by train, Shanghai - Hong Kong, Hong Kong - Beijing - Moscow. On the way back, I fly in transit, less than 24 hours.
- What type of visa do I need? One-time or two-time?
- If one-off, can I get a visa at the airport?
- Is it difficult?
- If I buy an invitation from a travel agency, can I issue a visa myself?
- A visa is not needed for Hong Kong, right?

With the planned itinerary of travel it is necessary to register a single Chinese visa. To apply for a visa upon arrival at Beijing airport, you should have a letter of guarantee from the Chinese side confirming the opening of a visa in China, this letter is presented when you register for a flight here in Russia. If you have a proper invitation in your hands, of course, you will be able to file documents yourself at the Embassy of the PRC in the Russian Federation.
Since July 1, 2009 for citizens of the Russian Federation, since November 03, 2010 for Ukrainian citizens, no entry visa is required to visit the Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China Hong Kong, if the period of stay does not exceed 14 days. To enter Hong Kong, you need to have a passport valid for at least 6 months. For citizens of other countries of the former CIS, a Hong Kong visa is required.
