Required documents
- passport (validity period - not less than 3 months from the end of the trip, it is mandatory to have at least two blank pages and the owner's signature in the passport);
- 1 color photo (without a corner, on a pronounced gray background) 36x47 mm not older than 6 months;
- personally completed tourist online questionnaire in duplicate;
- confirmation of hotel booking for the whole period of the trip or a tourist voucher;
- printout of air tickets in both directions with a fixed departure date;
- medical insurance for the Schengen countries with a coverage of 30 thousand EUR, the validity of which should start from the date of application for a visa. Only polices of insurance companies accredited to the Finnish Embassy are accepted for consideration. The list of companies can be viewed on the official website of the embassy.
The Consulate reserves the right to request additional documents: a certificate from the place of work, confirmation of financial solvency, etc.
Accompanying documents (references from work, letters of sponsors, invitations, etc.) must be executed on the computer. Documents and applications filled out in words are not accepted for consideration.
If the tourist has several valid passports, all of them must be submitted to the consulate.
Spouses with different surnames need to provide a copy of the marriage certificate.
For children under 18, a photocopy of the birth certificate will be required (and from the age of 14 also a copy of the internal passport) and one photo 36x47 mm, for those traveling with one parent or independently - a copy of the notarized authorization from the parents in Russian. Procedure for submitting documents
You can apply for a visa to Finland at the Visa Centers of Finland in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan and Murmansk, the visa department of the Embassy of Finland in Moscow, the Consulate General of Finland in St. Petersburg, the Consulate Branch of Finland in Petrozavodsk and Murmansk. It is necessary to enroll online on the Visa Centers website, or call (495) 662-87-39 in Moscow and (812) 309-28-89 in St. Petersburg.
You can apply in person or through third parties and organizations. To enter the consulate you need to show your internal passport with the registration. In the consular department of the embassy, applications of persons living at a distance of more than 500 km from Moscow on the territory served by the embassy are considered, if possible, within two working days. Such term is valid only in cases when the applicant personally arrives in Moscow to issue a visa (it is necessary to have a Russian passport with him).
Tourists who permanently reside in St. Petersburg and the region, the Republic of Karelia, the Komi Republic, the Murmansk, Novgorod, Pskov, Vologda, Arkhangelsk regions and the Nenets Autonomous District are registered at the Visa Center and Consulate of Finland in St. Petersburg .In addition to the main package of documents, they will need to hand over the original or notarized copy of the internal passport, a copy of the first page of the internal passport and the residence registration page, as well as the old passport if it has Schengen visas issued within the last three years .
Residents of Kaliningrad and the Kaliningrad Region can apply for Finnish Schengen visas at the Lithuanian Consulate General in Kaliningrad (when filing and obtaining documents, the applicant's personal presence is required). Reception of documents at the Consulate General of Lithuania in Kaliningrad is carried out on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 09:00 to 12:00, issuance of ready visas from 16:00 to 17:00.
Currently, the visa processing period is 6-9 working days. The date of issue of the visa, indicated on the receipt, is assumed, and does not guarantee the issuance of a visa at that time. Therefore, it is recommended to issue a visa in advance, at least a week before the planned trip.
Consular fee
The fee for all types of visas is 35 EUR and is charged for each passport, including the passports of children (regardless of age). The receipt for payment of the fee is issued by the consular officer at the time of receipt of documents, the fee can be paid at the payment centers or ATMs of Nordea Bank.
Visa centers in Finland in Moscow, St. Petersburg and other cities of Russia will additionally have to pay a service fee of 25 EUR.
From payment of consular fee the following categories of citizens are exempted:
- children entered in the parents' passport;
- schoolchildren, students of higher education institutions, graduate students and their accompanying * teachers (provided that the purpose of the trip is training);
- close relatives of citizens of the states of the European Union;
- close relatives of Russian citizens residing lawfully in Finland.
