Finland got a chance to connect with the European continent through an underwater tunnel. Currently, specialists from Estonia, Finland and Sweden are completing the design of a railway tunnel under the Gulf of Finland, which will connect Helsinki and Tallinn.
The Finnish side has already called the Talcinky project. It is known that the tunnel will have a length of 50 km, and its cost will be up to 13 billion EUR. Finland, Estonia and the European Union will finance the project. Investments should pay off within 45 years.
One of the longest submarine roads will appear no earlier than 2030 and will become part of a large highway that will connect the Finnish capital with Tallinn, Riga, Kaunas, Warsaw and Berlin.
