The small town of Caesarea is located on the Mediterranean coast of Israel, 50 km north of Tel Aviv and just a few kilometers from Hadera. In the late 19th - early 20th centuries, Baron Edmond James de Rothschild bought land around Caesarea, and in 1948, with the formation of the State of Israel, gave them to the Caesarea Foundation.

Caesarea is the only place in Israel run by a private organization, not by municipal government agencies, and is considered one of the most prestigious residential areas in the country.

Caesarea is also the home of Israel's only 18-hole golf course designed by Robert Trent-Jones.
