As for the names of specific resorts, the most popular among tourists are Lillehammer (and the neighboring Hafjell, Quifiel, Golo, Skeikampen and Shusheen), Geilo (Yailo), Hemsedal and Trysil.
Lillehammer
Lillehammer - the capital of the Winter Olympic Games in 1994 - one of the largest and most popular ski resorts in Norway. Lillehammer itself is a small cozy town on the shore of the selfs of the lake in Norway - Mjøsa, which is located in the picturesque valley of Gudbransndalen. This is the homeland of Per Gynt and ancient folk beliefs about elves and trolls, a quiet resort without noisy nightlife and stormy events - of course, besides the numerous ski competitions.
In addition, Lillehammer, located just 176 km from Oslo, unites the five largest ski centers and popular ski resorts of the country: Hafjell, Kvitfjel, Golo, Skeikampen and Shusheen .These ski centers are located in the 15-20 km distance from Lillehammer and are connected to it by a free bus service and a common ski pass (the combined ticket Lillehammer Ski Pass, giving the right to ride on any road in the vicinity).Season skating continues from November to May, and a magnificent snow cover supported by numerous snow cannons .In addition, there are excellent conditions for comfortable skiing on snowboard and cross-country skiing .
Hafjell - the site of the Olympic slalom competition in 1994, and now a popular center of competitions of various levels for numerous winter sports. In total there are 39 km of ski slopes of different levels of complexity: 10 green, 9 blue, 7 red and 4 black, and about 300 km of plain trails. The difference in heights is 835 m.
The holo, located on the bank of the Mjøsa lake, besides the ski slopes offers a wide range of entertainment from ice fishing, sledging, reindeer and dog sledding, and snowboarding, skiing, toboggan, etc., high-altitude trails of only 15 (6 green, 5 blue , 3 reds and 1 black), plus more than 600 km of plain trails.
Quitfiel or "White Mountain" is the highest altitude in the surrounding resorts. Despite the abundance of blue and red tracks for fans, there are really extreme descents, including a winding and steep black track, specially built for the 94th Olympics. This is the "Kingdom of Speed" and the venue for the annual World Slalom Cups.
Skeikampen offers to the fans of mountain skiing 17 descents with a total length of 21 km, and its highest point is at the level of 1123 m in addition to trails for amateurs and professionals, many descents for beginners and children's trails. Also there is a descent for fans of snowboarding, carving and freestyle.
Shusheen was originally considered a place for skiing on plain skis, but more recently ski slopes were added to the magnificent ski runs. The longest of which is 2, 2 km. In total, today there are 2 green routes, 3 blue, 2 red and 2 black.
Trysil
Trysil - the largest ski center in Norway, located near the border with Sweden. Trysil is located on the slope of the Trysilfjellet mountain, which is a three-hour drive from Oslo. The climate of the resort is continental, the most stable in the whole of Scandinavia, and the ski season lasts the longest in Europe - from the end of October to May.

Geilo (Yailo)
Connoisseurs of mountain landscapes and good ski resorts will certainly appreciate the beauty that the mountain town of Geilo in Norway is endowed with, which lies northwest of Oslo on its way to Bergen. This is the first ski resort in Scandinavia, the creation of which took place more than a century ago, and the first skiing competitions in this area took place in 1935. The resort is located next to the Hardanger National Park National Park, where international slalom and cross-country skiing competitions are held regularly.
In total, Geilo has prepared about 39 slopes, three tracks for descent on snowboards, three schools in which skiers and snowboarders are trained. In addition, the descents are equipped with ski lifts, lighting and rental of ski equipment.
Furthermore. Geilo is a great place to relax in the ski resort of the family: here you can fully master the technique of skiing and hone the existing skills, and for children a specialized ski school is created. Hemsedal
This large center for skiing is raised to a height of one and a half thousand meters and is located 220 km from Oslo. This area is called the "Scandinavian Alps": Hemsedal trails are located on three peaks: Totten (1450 m), Tinden (1444 m) and Rogin (1370 m). In total, there are 48 mountain routes equipped with the latest technology: 21 hallways, 11 blue, 9 red and 7 black.
It is here that the stages of the World Cup in giant slalom are regularly held. In addition, Hemsedal is recognized by European snowboarders as the best resort for this sport - at the disposal of snowboarders special trails, springboards, big-airs and rails.
Other ski resorts in Norway
In addition to the above-listed major ski centers, Norway has many equally comfortable and equipped, but less untwisted and noisy trails.
So near the capital you can visit the famous ski center Holmenkollen, located north of Oslo. Here, apart from the descents themselves, the Ski Museum, a unique springboard and a magnificent observation deck with a fantastic view of the surrounding area attract attention.
Several ski centers are located near the town of Gul, 190 km from Oslo: Ol, Gulfel and Nesbyen with elevations from 1000 m to 1890 m, plus tens of kilometers of plain trails, and Nurefjell with highways up to 1,400 m. In the northern part of the country tourists are expected to ski resorts Oppdal: Wangslis, Hovden, Sletvold, Stolen and Odalen, which are located 420 km from Oslo.
In the east of the country, near the border with Sweden, is a small resort Voss (only 660 m above sea level). In the central part of Norway, the Beitostolen and Raudalen resorts deserve attention.
