The Aragonese Pyrenees occupy the northern regions of Aragon and are considered the natural boundary between Europe and the Iberian peninsula, stretching for 450 km. This is the highest part of the Pyrenees Mountains, where the highest peaks of the region are located: Aneto (3404 m), Monte Perdido (3355 m), Vinhmal (3298 m), Pose (2275 m), Cotierla (2912 m), Perdiguero (3221 m) and Somport (1631 m). In addition to excellent slopes, the region boasts hundreds of thermal springs, picturesque mountain villages and national parks of Ordesa and Monte Perdido.

All the resorts of the region are pleased with good infrastructure, and the town of Khaka even put forward its candidacy for the capital of the Winter Olympic Games of 2010.

The slopes of the Aragonese pyrenees have a southern exposition and are almost always sunny.

The main resorts of the Aragonese Pyrenees

Astun is one of the most modern resorts in the region, specially built at the foot of the mountain of La Rasa (2300 m) at an altitude of about 1700 m. Here 39 km of tracks are laid (3 "green", 14 "blue", 22 "red" and 9 " black "). The height difference is relatively small, but the length is 800-2000 m. There are two skiing areas: La Raca - Sarrios and Truchas, connected by 13 ski lifts. The ski season lasts from the end of November to the end of March.

Boi-Taul, located 20 km from Baqueira-Beret, is one of the most mountainous, but little-known, and therefore not overcrowded by tourists resorts in Spain. It is located at an altitude of 2020 m, just 42 km of tracks (most of the "red") and 16 lifts. Close to the natural park Aiguez-Tortes-i-Lago San Mauricio with numerous picturesque ponds. The ski season lasts from early December to mid-to-late March.

In Kandancha you can find trails of almost any level of complexity, because the resort is surrounded by several mountain peaks with a quite different relief: La Sapatilla, Aspe and El Tobaso. Altogether there are 59 km of slopes plus 35 km of plain ski trails. The season lasts from the end of November to the end of March.
