The sea and the sun
Let the beaches of Tabarka not as "untwisted" as the coasts of Hammamet or Mahdia, but the resort has something to be proud of: a wide coastline, gentle descent into the water, almost complete absence of algae and fine, almost white sand. The falling rocky sections of the coast (for example, on the "Genoese peninsula" and in the Eagle region) will allow you to diversify the bathing impressions. Given the fact that Tabarka is on the northern coast of the country, the sea here is a degree or two cooler than in the eastern resorts, and a little more troubled.
- Admire the seascape and the majestic Genoese fort from the observation deck.
- Scuba dive to the largest coral reef in the Mediterranean Sea, making up the company of coral catchers.
- Photographed at formidable 25-meter cliffs with the spoken name of Needle.
- To put a stick on the ball (and it does not matter that he will fly wrong) on one of the best golf courses in the country.
- Spin around in the rhythms of salsa at the international festival of Latin American music.
Kitchen and restaurants
Fishermen Tabarki regularly deliver fresh fish and seafood to the restaurants of the city and the resort area. The best fish establishments can be found in the marina - strolling along the quays, learn the menu and refrigerated display cases, choose the fancy cold-blooded - and welcome to the table! In the season, lobsters and oysters are served - the latter, by the way, are famous throughout Tunisia. Among other local delicacies - dishes from game and meat of wild animals, for example, a hare or a deer. Hunting for wild boar in the region is very popular, but in the prepared form it is practically not served - religious prohibitions on pork affect.
Among other things, you can try national dishes all over the place: Tunisian salad and Mashui salad, briques, tazhin, couscous, soup-shorba, etc. Among the popular restaurants are Barberousse, Le Pescadou and Le Pirate.
Shopping and shopping
Souvenirs and simply cute little things can be bought at shops located in the port of pleasure craft. Coral decorations and interior items with the inclusion of corals are sold in several shops in the residential quarter, rising up from the marina. It is not necessary, however, to expect a flight of imagination and richness of performance - the decorations are not too numerous, uniform and rather modest.
From the original folk crafts, pay attention to products from the mountains of Krumiri, surrounding Tabarka from all directions and extending to the south along the western border of Tunisia. These are pretty homespun rugs, mats, handbags and napkins made of wool and cotton, painted with natural dyes. Also, in the shops of Tabarka, ceramic products are sold from the neighboring Sezhnan of the characteristic "ultra-primitive" type, painted white, red-brown and black.
Entertainment, excursions and attractions Tabarki
The main attractions in Tabarka are two - and they are located in close proximity to each other .The first - needle-like rocks 20-25 meters in height, standing at the edge of the surf, the ancient formation of iron-bearing rocks of the Miocene epoch .They are called - Needles (Les Aiguilles) .The second is the Genoese fort of the 16th century, standing on the once island of Tabarka (Ile de Tabarka), by the efforts of the Frenchmen turned into the peninsula .On a 1 km long road, you can quickly reach the foot of the fort that occupies the top of the rocky mountain .But to inspect the fortress from the inside will not succeed - it is occupied by parts of the Tunisian army .
A few architectural monuments are represented by a basilica - Roman cisterns, converted into a temple by French missionaries of the 19th century. Massive quadrangular columns and no less heavy arches form the basis of the building.
Another place of eternal rest is located 14 km from the city - Memorial Cemetery of those killed in the Second World War, where 500 Allied soldiers found shelter.
Diving
Diving in Tabarka is undoubtedly considered the best in Tunisia due to the 300-kilometer coral reef and the protected area around the archipelago of La Galith. Thanks to the stony bottom, the water here is transparent even at a solid depth, and in numerous underwater grottoes there is a mass of representatives of the cold-blooded: here you can see pike-perch, zubans and sea bream, eels and octopuses, barabules, squid and shrimp, grupers, tuna of all sizes - from 50- centimeter youngsters to giants weighing 200 kg.
Six islands under the general name La-Galit lie 60 km from the coast. The surrounding waters received the status of an environmental protection zone - fishing is prohibited here, and the peace of the sea inhabitants is not violated. In addition, the seabed itself is of interest - La Galith was formed under the influence of volcanic activity (this is the only archipelago of its kind in Tunisia). Admirers of the races will be interested in a merchant ship sunk in the 50s of the 20th century, and naturalists - a colony of seal monks.

Developments
Despite the apparent distance from the main resort party, Tabarka boasts a remarkable cultural life - there are as many as two open amphitheaters in the city where theater and music performances take place in the season.
