What is Tax Free for buying in the UAE?
Responds Andrei Zorin, Unex company
There are no taxes in the UAE at all, as there is no value-added tax on consumer goods, and accordingly there is nothing to return!
A little help from Wikipedia:
Tax free, tax free (no charges) - a system for refunding the amount of value-added tax (VAT). VAT is refunded for purchases made by foreign nationals when they cross the border of the country in which they were purchased. The amount of refund is from 7 to 20% of the purchase amount, depending on the value of VAT in that country.
Responds Elena Khryapina, Russian Express company
Тax free in UAE no , but there is a city of Dubai, which is a city exempt from taxes. This is an open port with very low import duties and low cost of delivery of goods - hence the low prices. In addition, there are no taxes. Thanks to this, in Dubai, the goods of the best world firms can be purchased at the best prices.
