A passport issued by a citizen of the Republic of Belarus issued in 1997 is the so-called Single Passport, that is a general passport that combines the properties of domestic and foreign. In other words, for traveling abroad Belarusian citizens do not need to receive a special "exit" passport - it is enough that all adults are by default

Earlier, for a trip abroad, a citizen of Belarus needed to obtain a special permit ("exit visa"), but from 01 January 2008 this requirement was canceled. In Ukraine, a single passport of a citizen of the Republic of Belarus is adopted as a document proving his identity and citizenship. No additional documents are required.
