20 expert reviews of the hotels in Washington Washington Hotels
West End offers high-class hotels near the Mall (pedestrian street with attractions), especially attracting businessmen who need to get to K Street (this street houses offices of various companies). A little to the west is Georgetown - perhaps the most beautiful area of Washington with many small but fairly cheap hotels, restaurants and nightlife. But note that in Georgetown there is not a single subway station - you can get there only by bus or taxi.
For a more authentic perception of Washington, some tourists prefer to settle slightly to the north, in the districts of Dupont Circle or Logan Circle, and also to the east, in the historic area near Capitol Hill. These areas are very much appreciated because of the abundance of high-class restaurants and clubs. In addition, if you rented a car, you can find parking on the street, saving $ 25-55 for using the hotel's parking lot.
Dupont Circle is a wonderful place to live in Washington, which is gaining popularity every year. Prices here are more affordable than in the East End, there are many nice private hotels here. There is where to stroll in the evening, convenient access to the metro is realized. If you live in the south-western part of the Dupont Circle, very close to Georgetown and the business center of the West End, and the northeastern part is teeming with nightclubs and restaurants.
Looking at the options for hotels in the Scott Circle district in the south-west of the Shaw area, you can see that most of them attract customers with the slogan "close to the White House and the city center". And indeed, whichever hotel you choose, there will definitely be a metro station, restaurant, Dupont and U Street, and, of course, the White House.
Nevertheless, traditionally suburban hotels are much cheaper than urban ones. Plus, this will save a lot, especially if you take into account the prohibitive hotel tax, which is 14, 5%. The most convenient access to the metro is Arlington, Alexandria, Bethesda and Silver Spring.
