Jasper National Park is one of the largest reserves in Canada, located in Alberta, 320 kilometers west of Edmonton and 290 kilometers from Calgary. The park was founded in 1907, its total area is 10,800 sq. Km. km.
There are more than 200 species of birds, deer, moose, grizzly bears, wolverines, wood porcupines and many other animals in the park, and the park itself consists almost entirely of beautiful coniferous forests. How to get
Through the whole park passes Highway 16 (Yellowhead). On it you can reach the park from Hinton, located 69 kilometers to the west, or from Edmonton, located 35 kilometers to the east. In addition, the park can be reached from Valemounta (110 km).
By train
From Edmonton and Vancouver, the Via Rail trains leave for the park, as well as private trains for Rocky Mountaineer.
By plane
The nearest international airports are in Edmonton and Calgary. Domestic flights also arrive at the Springbank airport, which is a little closer to the park.

Restaurants of Jasper
Andy's Bistro specializes in German and Austrian cuisine and is considered one of the best restaurants in the city. It does not look very promising, but you should try any of the dishes you serve - and you immediately change your mind. The prices are quite high, but not much higher than the average in the city.
If you want to economically eat lunch, go to Dead Dog Bar & Grill, the favorite place for locals. For $ 7 you can order a hamburger with French fries, and on Fridays there are happy hours. Spooners serve fine coffee, teas, juices and cocktails, as well as homemade desserts, cakes and light snacks.
You can find Japanese cuisine at the Denjiro Japanese Restaurant, and fine Canadian and French cuisine at the Becker's Gourmet Restaurant. In the park there is a very beautiful lake Maligne, by which you can go boating or go on an hour and a half cruise. Near the lake there is the canyon Maligne, in which in the summer you can see a waterfall. In the park there is another waterfall - Athabasca. Nearby there is parking, asphalted paths and picnic areas.
In winter, you can go skiing in the park and visit the Columbia Ice Field. In addition, you can climb the Mount Robson, the highest in the Rocky Mountains - its height is 3954 meters. On the mountain you can see many different animals, the Fraser River and the Rearguard Waterfall.
