Popayan is one of Colombia's most beautiful and well-preserved colonial cities, founded in the late 16th century. Because of the abundance of pretty light mansions, preserved from ancient times, Popayan is often called a "white city". In addition, this city is famous for one of the oldest universities in Colombia, which was founded in 1827.
