The first in the world theme park Legoland (Legoland) was opened in Billund (Denmark), in the homeland of the designer LEGO in 1968. Currently, the Danish Legoland, built from more than 46 million LEGO cubes, is the largest in the world.
How to get to Legoland
Billund does not have a railway, so it's better to get to the city by car or plane. Many airlines fly to Billund International Airport. Twice a day buses run from the airport in Vejle (30 min, 80 kroons) and Aarhus (1 h 30 min, 180 kroons, with transfer to Horsens and Skanderborg). From Vejle, Kolding and Horsens to Billund, regular buses leave daily to make stops at the airport.
If you travel to Billund from another country, you should follow the E45 motorway. Starting from the south of Denmark, you should go on the road to Kolding, and then turn to Billund, from the north and east of Denmark to Billund leads the road through Vejle.
Restaurants
In the area of Legoredo there is Grill House, and in the heart of the world of imagination in Burger House you can taste hot burgers with chips and cooling drinks. Pizza and pasta are served in a restaurant in Miniland, and in the kingdom of knights in Knights' Table specialize in dishes of medieval cuisine. The Legoland Hotel also has a restaurant where you can order a meal on the menu or enjoy a variety of dishes from the buffet.
Shopping
At the exit from Legoland is the world's largest store Lego, as well as a store of children's clothing brand Lego® Wear. Right at the entrance to the park you can buy everything you need to travel around Legoland - film cameras, sunscreens and glasses, as well as the Lego set, which includes a pirate sword, a crown of princesses and charms.
Between the "Land of Pirates" and "The Kingdom of the Knights" is Castle Shop, which presents a wide range of dresses for little princesses and costumes for brave knights. In addition, you can buy a collection of crystals, fossils and polished stones in the store.
In "Legoredo" is the General Store with a wide variety of gifts from Lego, as well as delicious attributes for girls' beds from Hello Kitty, including stylish scarves and bags. In the "World of Imagination" there is a little shop selling sweets, represented by a huge selection of sweets, candy sticks, sugar candy and chocolate.
Legoland Zones and Entertainment in Denmark - $
Danish Legoland consists of 8 thematic zones: Miniland, Duplo Peace, Imagination World, Legoredo, Pirate Land, Knight's Kingdom, World of Adventures, Lego.
"Miniland" (Miniland) is a world in miniature, which contains the most famous sights from different parts of the world - the USA, Germany, the Netherlands, Norway, Sweden and Denmark.
"DUPLO Land" is a zone equipped with a special soft covering and designed for even the youngest children. On the territory of DUPLO there is a driving school for children, where they can be trained in traffic rules, and after taking the almost real driving test, get a children's driving license.
In the "Imagination Zone" is the center of Lego Mindstorms, where older children can create their own toys from Lego, as well as the largest in Scandinavia, a 600-seat 4D-movie theater with special effects and a huge screen. And in the aquarium Atlantis you can meet with sharks, guarding sunken treasures!
The city of LEGOREDO Town is a corner of the Wild West, where along the way there are cowboys, Indians and gold diggers. On the river, ending with a roaring waterfall, you can swim by canoe, and on the train - rush through the gold mines.
On the "Land of Pirates" (Pirate Land) you can fight at swords with real pirates and take part in the search for treasure. In the Knight's Kingdom, children will meet with a flying dragon in the Middle Ages castle, real knights and Vikings.
In the "Adventure World" (Adventure Land) there are many interesting attractions - from water attractions to roller coasters and a cable car. The city of Lego is a real city with its own fire station and industrial factory.
The work schedule of Legoland should be specified on the official site of the theme park. The cost of the visit is 279 kroons for an adult, 249 for a child, the family ticket will cost 799 kroons (prices are indicated as of August 2011)
