August is considered one of the hottest months in the Dominican Republic. The air temperature in the last month of summer is on average + 32-33 degrees, higher rarely rises. Nevertheless, not everyone tolerates it well at this time of year. All the fault is high humidity, up to 90%, and short rains, which are often poured during this period. But the water is always warm, not less than + 27-28 degrees, and the nights bring a cool (about +25 degrees).

Many tourists are frightened by the information that August falls into the period, which is usually called the "typhoon season". In fact, hurricanes and squalls in the Dominican Republic are not such a big problem. They, most often, "cling" to the edge of the island, where there are no hotels and tourists. But by itself, that at the slightest threat of such a cataclysm you need to strictly follow all the instructions of hotel employees.
