How to get
Uncomfortable trains (18 pounds in second grade, on the way 5 hours) connect Port Said to Cairo, so it's better to take the bus (15-20 pounds, on the way 3 hours, departure every hour). In addition, there are buses to Alexandria (20-22 pounds, 4 hours), Luxor (60 pounds, 12-13 hours) and Hurghada (45 pounds, 7½ hours). Entertainment, excursions and attractions of Port Saida
Port Said was founded in 1859 on a small sand spit that separated the Mediterranean from the salt lake of Manzal. Since then, many houses of the 19th century have survived here, as well as the picturesque embankment of the Suez Canal. The city became famous during the Suez War in 1956 with its one-day resistance to the Anglo-French naval landing. Since then, Port Said is often called the "Egyptian Stalingrad."
The main sights of Port Said include the embankment of the Suez Canal and the National Museum on it, with samples of Egyptian culture from pre-Farahan times to the present day. In addition, the city has preserved several charming churches - the Coptic Orthodox and Franciscan churches.
It should be said a couple of words about the channel itself: its length is 162.5 km, through which every day about 50 ships pass (en route 14-16 hours). In the Port-Said area the canal splits, creating a two-lane movement of ships. Above the channel (this is the last boring nuance, honestly) lies a picturesque suspension bridge 70 meters high, about 20 km from the city.

Military Museum
Opened in 1964, the Port-Said Military Museum consists of several halls with displays on: the battles of the Pharaohs, the invasion of 1956, the wars against Israel (1967 and 1973). In addition, here you can see all kinds of photos, documents, bas-reliefs, paintings, statues, models.
