In the spring of 2015, Finnish border guards launch a pilot project, within which Russians will be able to pass border control with using automatic devices. New devices will not only be able to check the data of the passport, but also to monitor the observance of visa control.
In particular, the submachine guns will appear in the port of Helsinki and at the checkpoint of Vaalimaa. The devices will be able to monitor visa control thanks to new biometric visas that Russians started issuing in early 2015. In addition, a new face recognition system will be created at the checkpoint, which is designed to combat illegal border crossings.
Expected. That the new system will help speed up the passage of visa formalities and improve control at the border.
