The new Prime Minister of Greece, who came to power on January 26, 2015, was actively involved in the work: Alecis Tsipras calls on the country's hotels to abandon the all-inclusive system. The politician believes that the system, in which tourists do not leave the territory of the hotel, negatively affects the development of small businesses.
The Prime Minister believes that hotels should return to the classic model of monetization, when they earn not only hotels, but also nearby restaurants, bars and shops. Alecis Tsipras stressed that he will "curb" the vector of the development of accommodation facilities, noting that it is not a question of completely banning the format "everything is included". However, the politician intends to insist on the gradual abandonment of such a system.
Alecis Tsipras said that the government does not want the further development of an aggressive business model and does not exclude the possibility of increasing VAT for hotels with an all-inclusive system.
