Many modern and expensive hotels in Bali open their own SPA centers, where any procedure is offered at a high price. It is more convenient and cheaper to apply for the same services to self-contained SPA centers located throughout the island.

As for villas and cottages - they can be rented in whole or in part. Most of them are located on the coast of the Indian Ocean and form small tourist villages (resorts), where guests can find several swimming pools, golf courses, tennis courts and children's centers. High season in Indonesia falls on the period from May to October, as well as during New Year and Christmas vacations.

The capital of the country, Jakarta, the coast of the Indian Ocean and the island of Bali are the main tourist centers of Indonesia, offering tourists the largest number of accommodation options: from fashionable 5 * hotels and luxury villas for rent to quite inexpensive guesthouses and mini-hotels .

In some hotels (especially expensive ones), guests are asked to pay a small extra fee before settling in, which will serve as a guarantee to the owner to cover expenses in case of possible damage caused by the guest. If nothing of the kind has happened, the levy is completely returned upon eviction.

Beyond the main hiking trails, the choice of accommodation options is much poorer: here are mostly losmen-type hotels or boarding-houses, which can also be referred to as wisma or pondok. Facilities in them, as a rule, not very much: the toilet is often common, and in the bathrooms (also designed for several rooms) is placed a water tank (mandi), from which water is directly dredged for bathing. The cost of such accommodation usually does not exceed US $ 15 per night.

Small houses (homestays) or very small losmen are often positioned as aparthotels and rent out rooms without any service at all - these are the so-called penginapan.

More traditional 2- 3 *, cheap enough, can often be found even in the smallest cities, as well as near major train stations and airport terminals. They can have air conditioners and hot water in the bathroom in each room, but in general they are distinguished by tiny rooms with very small windows or completely without them.
