Add a review about the Museum of Aviation in Italy near San Marino

In Italy, a few kilometers from the border with San Marino, the Aviation Museum was opened. It is located in a very beautiful place - on the mountain, overlooking the meadows, vineyards and planting olives. It is here, in the village of Cherbiola, there is a large park that tells about the history of Italian and world aviation.

This museum is good because almost all of its exhibits can be studied in detail - touch, touch, rotate in hands. True, they can not fly away with their help. Many tried - to no avail.

History of creation

The Aviation Museum was created on the private initiative of military aviation reserve officers - they wanted to open a cultural air center. Their initiative was supported, and in 1995 the Museum of Aviation appeared in Italy. It is located on the territory of 100 thousand square meters, and its exposition consists of more than 50 aircraft.

It is worth noting that the exhibits were collected almost all over the world. Here there are Italian, American, Russian planes, artillery of air defense, collections of military forms with insignia are presented. Among the unique aircraft are the personal plane of the American actor Clark Gable and the ship that transported John Kennedy and Marilyn Monroe. $ $

Getting there $ $

Getting to the Aviation Museum is simple: it is located 8, 5 kilometers off the road of Rimini - San Marino. Tentatively - a kilometer from the border with the neighboring state. The aviation park is well visible, so it can be seen without difficulty.

The exact address of the museum is: Via Santa Aquilina 58, Rimini.

Expositions

The museum has a large collection of aircraft that participated in military conflicts in Korea, Vietnam, the Persian Gulf, Yugoslavia, and Iran. The exposition includes American fighter-bombers, Italian, Russian aircraft, air defense artillery, mobile radar. There are flying overalls and military decorations, insignia, many of which were given to famous people such as Dannunzio, Benito Mussolini, Italo Balbo and others.

Visitors to the museum can feel what it's like to be a pilot or a passenger of a military vehicle. They can sit in the cockpit at the helm of the plane. Access to such exhibits is not limited: want - spin the wheel, imagine yourself a pilot, bomb the imaginary objects. Particularly fond of playing in the war-war in the museum are children.

In the open parking lot is a fragment from one of the planes of the Italian aerobatic team, which crashed in German Rammstein in 1988. Next to it stands a plate with the names of all those killed in that terrible catastrophe.

It is worth noting that the Italians very carefully thought out the details of the creation of the museum. It is located on the slope of the mountain, and its construction could damage the environment. To avoid this, around 300 trees were planted in the vicinity. Now the museum is in shadow, and its visitors are not afraid of any sun.

The Aviation Museum, besides exhibitions, is engaged in scientific and cultural activities. There are conferences, round tables, various events dedicated to the development of aviation.

Aircraft Modeling Museum

In 2004 an aircraft modeling museum was opened on the territory of the complex, and the exhibition pavilion was named in honor of Italo Balbo, the only airborne marshal in Italy.

This museum was created to preserve unique drawings of aircraft designs and to create their models. Representation of new models annually attracts a lot of spectators. Some events can be timed to the holidays, for example, to the Day of All Lovers. Participants demonstrate their models, and spectators take part in the drawings and can get valuable prizes. The museum collection presents various models of aircraft, there are even several models of missiles of the 40s of the last century.

Infrastructure of the Museum of Aviation

Aviation Museum is not just a collection of planes - it's also a big theme park where you can have fun. In general, visitors here have an excellent infrastructure that allows everyone to feel comfortable. For example, the museum took care of people with disabilities, the project provides convenient walkways and a stair lift.

There is a restaurant and a bar in the park that can accommodate more than 300 people. For children I work in special playgrounds. The Aviation Museum can be visited either by car or by helicopter - there is a helicopter landing site.

The staff of the museum are ready to meet with foreign guests - excursions are conducted in English, German and French. In general, a walk in the park can take from 2 to 4 hours, depending on what visitors want to see. Excursions in the museum are free, they need to be negotiated with the guide in advance.

There are shops on the territory of the museum where you can buy various souvenirs with aviation themes. For example, real aviation devices, including those created in the Soviet Union a few decades ago.
