Which museums in Kaunas are worth visiting?

There are many museums and art galleries in Kaunas. Among the main and most interesting are the museum of devils, the National Art Museum named after MK Čiurlionis, the Kaunas Zoological Museum of Tadas Ivanauskas and the Ceramics Museum.

The beginning of the collection of the only devil's museum in the world, represented by 3 thousand exhibits, was laid by the artist Antanas Zhmuidzinavichus in 1906. The museum is open to visitors daily except Monday from 11:00 to 17:00, the ticket price is 6 Lt.

The National Art Museum named after MK Čiurlionis, Lithuania's oldest and largest art museum, is dedicated to the history of Lithuanian art development from the Middle Ages to the present day. The museum is open daily except Mon. From 11:00 to 17:00. The Ceramics Museum is a branch of the MK Čiurlionis National Museum and has about 700 authentic samples of ancient ceramics.

The Kaunas Zoological Museum of T. Ivanauskas is the only museum of its kind in the Baltic States. The museum exposition is represented by 15 thousand and consists of several scientific departments: invertebrates, entomology, ichthyology, herpetology, ornithology, mammology.

Museums are open to visitors every day except Monday from 11:00 to 17:00 (19:00).
