How to get to Johor Bahru
Johor Bahru lies 368 km (or five hours) from Kuala Lumpur. The toll highway "North-South" (North-South Expressway) reduces this distance to 220 km and three hours drive.
Malaysia Airlines and Air Asia make flights to the airport. Sultan Ismail Airport, 32 km from the city center) from Kuala Lumpur, Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Terengganu, Kuantan and Kuching. From the Waterfront City (Water Front City) to Johor Bahru, there are regular buses to the airport, working hours: 5:00 to 19:00. The same buses take passengers from the Copthorne Hotel in Singapore.

Entertainment, excursions and attractions of Johor Bahru
The mosque of Sultan Abu Bakar is on the top of a hill, from there an amazing view of the Johor Strait opens. Nearby is the Grand Palace (Istan Besar, Museum of Sultan Abu Bakar). There are exhibits associated with the royal family, including rarities, collected by the Sultan Abu Bakar. In the North Wing there is a throne room and a museum, all court ceremonies, state receptions and banquets take place here. A stone's throw from the building is a rather extensive Palace garden in an amazing Japanese style.
The palace of Istana Bukit Sirin, which today is occupied by the ruling sultan, is of interest. It is closed to visitors, but, passing by, you can admire its luxurious garden. The building. Sultan Ibrahim is located on the Bukit Timbalan hill.
Datran Bandarayya Square ("city square") is interesting for its fountain, minaret and clock tower. This is a favorite place for evening walks of citizens. The Johor Free Trade Zone is the largest duty-free trade center in Malaysia. It includes a hotel, a center for mass events, a floating restaurant with a nightclub and a five-story shopping podium. From here ferries leave for Singapore and Indonesia, customs and border control posts are immediately located.
