Temples of Kathmandu
Confirming its ancient name "The Temple of the Tree", Kathmandu is littered with openwork wooden structures .Evidence of this is the wooden pagoda of Kath Mandir (Kastamandap, 12th century) .The historical center of Kathmandu, centered on Durbar Square (Dvortsovaya Square), which numbers more than 50 temples and monuments: the Shiva temple, Parvati, the complex of palaces and temples "Hanuman Dhoka" (15-18th centuries), is ready to confirm this..), decorated with a statue of Hanuman (1672) .It is best to start exploring the square from Kastamandap (Kasthamandap), the oldest temple in the valley .Pay attention to the Great Bell, which, when it rings, drives away evil spirits, as well as to the Jaganath temple, famous for its intricate erotic threading .
