I heard that in the Philippines they are treating diabetes - is this so?
Responds Veronica Birman
The Philippines offers treatment for various diseases: both with the help of modern medicine, and, for those who wish, with the help of "healers". In the first case, this is an opportunity to receive modern and first-class medical care for less money than in Europe; in the second, the question of faith and chance.
Unfortunately, I do not know about the existence of any know-how on the treatment of diabetes in the Philippines. Nevertheless, seminars and conferences on this disease are held several times a year. For more information about them, see the Philippine Diabetes Association website.
