Beach
Like in any coastal city of young Portugal, Faro has a sandy beach many kilometers long - Praia de Faro. Even in the high season, it does not happen to be crowded because of its colossal proportions. On it you can find rental offices and a public toilet, but there is not a single shower. The beach is close to the airport, so many passengers registering for a late flight and leaving their luggage go there to swim for the last.

Entertainment, excursions and attractions of Faro
The most real adventure will be an ordinary walk around the city on their own two $ $ .The historical center, which is the Old City, is a beautifully preserved corner of Portugal of the 18th century, with cobbled streets and ancient buildings, in the architecture of which the influence of Mauritanian culture is traced .And in the Old Town, and in modern areas, you can meet strange vehicles, real wonders of automobile design - even a pickup with motorcycle rudders and a front wheel! In the same place you will see a lot of retro cars, for example, Renault 4s, which in their native France in the afternoon with fire you will not find, here come across often enough .
Being deep in thought, you can accidentally come across one of the most famous landmarks of Faro - Capela dos Ossos, one of the two most notable buildings of its kind in the world (the second one is in the Czech Republic, in the town of Kutná Hora) - $ .The walls and columns of the chapel are decorated with the bones of more than 1200 dead monks, and the inscription "These bones are waiting for their bones" is engraved on the entrance..Although now the building is considered a grim monument of death, reminiscent of the living about the fleetingness of being, at the time of the temple's acquisition of such a strange decor, its purpose was purely practical..The chapel belonged to the monks of the mendicant Franciscans order who, due to wars and epidemics, could not find new places for burial, and there was not enough space in the church cemetery .The monks began to dig out the old remains and put them in the basement, and in their place to bury the new ones, and this could be repeated three or four times .When the cellars were full of bones, and the stench became unbearable, the monks found a way out - they cleaned the bones of the remains of the flesh, bleached them in slaked lime and laid out the altar, the walls and ceiling of the church .
Of the other attractions worth noting the University of Algarve, a picturesque seaport and a marina. There is a 30,000-thousandth stadium, which was one of the stadiums of the 2004 European Football Championship. Other interesting places: Faro Castle, St. Francis Monastery, Capuchin Monastery, St. Francis Church, St. Barbara, St. Peter's, Episcopal Palace, Belmarku mansion, Admiral Ramal Oertigan's Maritime Museum.
