How to get to Belozersk
From Moscow, from Yaroslavl station, trains to Vologda, Arkhangelsk or Vorkuta to Vologda station. From Vologda, take a bus to Belozersk (2 buses a day, 3 hours on the way).
From St. Petersburg from the Moscow railway station trains to Vologda, Arkhangelsk, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk or Vorkuta to Cherepovets station (approximately 9 hours of travel, 2-5 departures a day). In Cherepovets, you should go to the bus station (next to the railway station building) and take the bus to Belozersk (4 buses a day, travel time is 2, 5 hours).

Entertainment, excursions and attractions of Belozersk
In the very center of the city there is an impressive earthen rampart, surrounded by a deep moat. The Transfiguration Cathedral is the most beautiful Belozersk temple, with a unique wooden interior decoration. The cathedral was built in 1668-1670, there are beautiful carved wooden works of art: the iconostasis, the supra-sacral canopy, the kiotas, the wall and table frames of icons.
On the trading area is a typical building for Russian cities - shopping arcades. The Assumption Church (1552) with a unique "clock tower" is the oldest stone structure of the city from among those that have reached us. In the interior of the church there were preserved murals, the carved iconostasis of the 18th century. with a number of icons 16 in.
An interesting place in the city is the embankment. Along the canal, a number of one-story stone buildings have been built, in which formerly the smithy, barracks and the house of the channel chief were located.
The Church of the Assumption is of particular interest (1552). This is the oldest stone structure of the city (at least from among those that have reached us). The city also has other interesting objects: the wooden church of Elijah the Prophet (1690-1696), the Church of St. John the Forerunner (1810), the Church of the All-Merciful Savior (1716-1723) and others.
