Skiing in Slovakia: how much does it cost to rent?
Responds information department of "Subtlety of Tourism"
Many of the holidaymakers at ski resorts in Slovakia prefer to take sports equipment for rent at the resort, and not drag it with them across the border. In the past season (winter 2011-2012) in Yasn, Tatranska Lomnica, Stary Smokovec, Shtreskie Pleso and in most other resorts, ski and snowboard rentals cost 1 day 18-21-25 EUR, depending on the equipment class. 6 days rent cost in 97 EUR for any set (economy, VIP, etc.). Boots for the day were issued for 7- 13 EUR, a helmet for 6. For 1 EUR, you could leave your ski (or snowboard) and (for 1 euro) more shoes.
If the tourist paid rent of equipment for the whole season (100-200 EUR per set, 50-200 EUR deposit and 3-6 EUR per day insurance against damage and theft), he received a storage space and care for skis-boots free of charge.
Rental equipment for teens (12-18 years), children (6-11 years) and the elderly (from 60 years) was cheaper. For one day it was required to pay 15 EUR for skis (snowboard), 6 EUR for boots and a helmet, and for 6 days of riding 82 and 32 EUR, respectively. Babies under 6 years old received 12 EUR per day, boots for 5 and a helmet for 4.
