History and culture

Maribor Pohorje is located in one of the historical regions of Lower Styria, once part of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, but inhabited for the most part by Slovenes .This region separated from the Austrians only in the 20th century, after the end of the First World War, but after gaining independence, the local residents were not free for long: during the Second World War the region became part of Germany .Maribor, which is the largest city close to the resort, is considered the regional and cultural center of Lower Styria .

How to get here
