From January 1, 2014, for the entry into the Republic of Korea (South Korea), citizens of Russia and the CIS do not need a visa. This rule is valid provided that the period of stay in the country does not exceed 60 days, and the purpose of the visit is tourism, visiting friends or relatives, a short business visit or transit. The total length of stay should not exceed 90 days in every 180 days. If the purpose of the trip is study, work or a long business trip, it is necessary to issue a visa at the consulates of South Korea in the territory of the Russian Federation.

When crossing the border of South Korea, you need to have: a passport (valid at the time of entry), return tickets, or tickets to a third country, hotel reservation (or travel agency voucher), or confirmation of sufficient funds for the entire stay in the country. In addition, it is necessary to fill out the migration card and customs declaration that are issued in the airplane, by ferry or in the arrival hall before passport control.
