Color is considered one of the taxi identification signs, which helps to distinguish a car from the flow of vehicles. In many countries, taxis are painted in a certain color. To taxi services, Moscow and Kiev have no such claims yet, although such a possibility is not excluded on the eve of the 2012 championship. Considering the desire of the former Soviet republics and their capitals to follow the European fashion and traditions of other countries, it is likely that the idea of coloring all official vehicles in one shade can be realized.

 Seoul yellow taxi

Yellow color is considered a classic. The founder of the tradition is the American John Hertz, who organized a taxi company in which used cars, repainted in yellow, worked. Against the backdrop of the then prevalent black "Ford" bright cars struck the eye. This is what practically all taxi services achieve - the more noticeable the car, more precisely its belonging to the serving company, the more the company of customers.

In New York and now there are yellow taxis. But such cars can not leave on a call, which has arrived to the dispatcher. The fact is that in cars there is no radio or other means of communication, so the yellow taxi serves customers voting on the street. And to order a taxi the vehicle will leave a different color.

There is no uniform color for taxi cars in the world. Although it is possible to draw a parallel between the yellow New York taxi and the yellow Soviet checkers, which often become so when illuminated. To some extent, the coloring of transport units that carry out passenger transportation corresponds to the mentality and culture of a particular country. In the conservative UK, all taxis are black. In the understanding of the English, restrained strict dark colors are associated with honor and dignity.

On the territory of Hong Kong, a characteristic color for a taxi is considered to be red, in New Zealand cars are mostly green, and in Singapore - blue. In the Slavic states, a uniform coloration never existed. Distinctive sign of the taxi were and remain checkered.

The results of passenger surveys show that most of the customers do not mind that the transport working in a taxi was the same color. Carriers are absolutely against. Yes, and with the existing approach to the organization of this type of business it is hardly possible. Because a significant percentage of carriers operate on their own cars. Therefore, it is impossible to force car owners to change the color. ±$ The material is posted on January 11, 2011.
