The tourist business in Abkhazia is developing slowly, but new hotels and boarding houses appear every year. The total number of hotels so far is not too large, although there are plenty of tourists. Most hotels belong to the category of 2-3 stars, 4 and 5 stars are few. In addition, the hotels marked with 5 stars in Abkhazia correspond more or less to 4 stars in Europe or Asia.

Perhaps this is due to the fact that most of the local hotels were built in Soviet times. The design of the buildings themselves and the interiors of their rooms in many hotels has not changed since then. Therefore, visitors are often met with worn-out carpets on the floors and not the newest furniture. This is often accompanied by exactly the same "service" from the past.

It is quite possible to avoid this if you stay in private mini-hotels, or where the reconstruction was recently carried out. Carefully study the information and feedback on the chosen place of rest, its location and check the information: it happens that the photos on the sites do not quite correspond to reality. Remember that your territory is usually small, and do not wait for your golf course or shops.
