Patagonia is part of South America, located south of the Rio-Colorado rivers in Argentina and Bio-Bio in Chile. One of the main attractions of Argentine Patagonia is the Lago Argentino National Park (Glacier Park), with 13 glaciers that descend from the mountains, melting in the waters of the Viedma and Argentino lakes.
The most spectacular glacier is Perito Moreno. You can reach it either by car or, if you stay at the Hosteria Los Notros, on foot, by taking yourself on a fascinating walk through the Patagonian foothills. The glacier, protruding from the water for more than 60 m, stretched for 30 km along the Argentine lake and covers an area of 275 sq. Km. km. To view this miracle closer, you can make a small cruise to the glacier - this excursion lasts about an hour.
Continuation of travel around South Patagonia can be a small cruise on a cruise yacht. Depending on the time that tourists have, the cruise can last from one day and longer. During such a sea walk, you can see the Uppsala Gulf, the Uppsala and Spagazini Glaciers, the Peineta Mountains and the Las Vakas Bay.
In addition, it will be interesting to visit Patagonia Canyon de Rio Pinturas, the cities of Rio Gallegos and Puerto -Madrin, national parks of Fitzroy (part of the park of Los Glaciares) and Pacito-Francisco-Moreno (the best place to observe the sea lions, penguins and whales). And also: beautiful cliffs at the mouth of the river Rio Desedado, huge mysterious stone formations in Monumento-Natural-Bosque-Petrificados and the Estancia de Santa Cruz farm complex.
