The average temperature in Guantánamo is maintained at 30 degrees throughout the year. At night, the temperature drops to 18-20 degrees. Precipitation is insignificant and the greatest number falls between May and October.

Guantanamo Entertainment, Excursions and Attractions
Among the streets with square blocks of houses are several impressive buildings - Palacio Salcines, market square and the culture house Rubén López Sabariego.
In 1919, hydraulic engineer José Leticio Salcines Morlote realized his idea of building a palace in the heart of the city - the majestic Palacio Salcines in eclectic style. The dome of the palace, executed in neoclassical style, is crowned with the sculpture La Fama, which since 1992 is the emblem of the city.
The building of the former Spanish casino, which now occupies the house of culture Rubén López Sabariego, in the early 20th century served as a meeting place and entertainment for Spanish immigrants. The main facade of the building is designed in eclectic style, and the columns are made according to the classical canons.
In Guantanamo, there is the church of Saint Catalina De Ricci, the construction of which began in 1837, but then halted for two whole years. The last intervention in the architectural appearance of the church was made in 1959-1960, but the church building was not moved anywhere and did not change its original size.

Haughtily, it looks like a big train plows the hills; and even the stones are like giant mushrooms, turtles, iguanas, frogs or a model of the Great Wall of China. Scientists have established that in the distant past this chain of hills in a few hundred meters, was a sea basin and appeared due to tectonic processes, the impact of rain and the whim of the wind.
Another interesting attraction is the zoo Zoologico de Piedra, animals in which are carved from stone. In the forest in the zoo of the farmer-sculptures Angel Inigo Blanco cut out about 300 images of animals from all the continents of the world in full size. The zoo is located in the settlement of Boqueron, 15 km from Guantanamo and was declared a cultural property of Cuba in 1977.
