The Italian "boot", stretching from central Europe almost to Africa, is washed by five seas. This Ligurian, Tyrrhenian, Ionian, Adriatic and Mediterranean (which, in fact, includes all four of the above-mentioned basins). Each of them has its own peculiarities and specifics.

Ligurian Sea

The Ligurian coast is an ancestral home of wealthy individuals. Local resorts are not so popular, as we say Rimini or Amalfi, and the size is very inferior to them. The Ligurian coast stretches from the very border with France to Genoa, sheltering a mass of miniature charming resorts on the way.

The coast is for the most part rocky, long sandy beaches here you will not meet. But the sea here is cleaner and more transparent - you can watch the bright fussy life of the underwater kingdom from the shore.

Adriatic Sea

The Italian Adriatic is primarily Rimini, L Ido di Jesolo and Riccine are the three most popular resorts on the coast. Almost all local beaches are a long strip of fine sand, in Lido di Jesolo alone they reach 14 km. The peculiarity of the Adriatic Sea in Italy is the gentle entrances to the water in order to reach the depth here you will have to make many steps, stepping cautiously through the hurrying crabs.

Life on the Adriatic is boiling: along the sea is built one big "shopping street" that replacing the resort behind the resort, does not change its essence. Here, most of the hotels, restaurants and cafes are built. In addition, this is the most popular beach for Russian tourists and lovers to arrange a quality and inexpensive shopping.

The Tyrrhenian Sea

The Tyrrhenian coast, one of the cleanest and most picturesque in Italy, starts from the Sorrento beach and takes almost 2 / 3 west coast of the country. Here, for the most part, mountainous beaches and gentle coastal waters: without strong tides and winds. The resorts are just as calm and quiet, family. The most popular and expensive is the Amalfi Coast with excellent hotels, sheltered on rocks, not ashore.

Ionian Sea

«Sole of the boot» - The Ionian coast is still little known to the Russian tourist. But in vain. Here there are surprisingly picturesque and, so far, unpopulated sections of the coast, while hotels are slightly cheaper than in other resorts of the country. Beaches are mostly beaches awarded the Blue Flag for the purity of their waters. The swimming season on the Ionian coast lasts from May to November.
