How to get

Alma-Ata can be reached by planes from all major airlines, including Aeroflot, Pulkovo Airlines, Lufthansa, KLM or by train (no visa is required for entry to CIS citizens).

All eight ski slopes of the resort are located on the northern slope. The variety of routes is represented by green, blue, three red and one black route. In addition, there are two routes in the snow park: for balloons and snowboards. Night skiing is possible.

The length of the longest route is 3620 meters. The difference in heights on the slope is more than 900 meters (from 3163 to 2260 meters). The width of the trails is from 100 to 600 meters. In addition to gentle slopes for beginners and more complex routes for trained skiers, Chimbulak offers off-piste skating, half-pipe for snowboarders, a special route for the mogul. Trails for downhill and slalom-giant are certified according to FIS standards and are included in the world's top ten complex trails.

On the slope of the alpine skiers, four turns of the cable-chair lift, seven drag lifts, a free towing lift and a baby elevator are raised.

Events of Chimbulak

In February 2011, Chimbulak hosted participants of the 7 Winter Asian Games, where slalom, super-giants and downhill competitions were held. The resort plans to participate in the competition for the World Universiade 2017, and possibly the Winter Olympic Games in 2022.
