How to get
The local airport accepts a lot of flights from America, there also regularly board from Mexico. Beaches
Cozumel beaches have a lot of sunbathing and little bathing: the coast line is rocky, and the winds create big waves .In general, the western (leeward) part of the island is more suitable for a quiet pastime at the beach .Few suitable for swimming places are turned into lounge parks where for a small fee tourists are provided with an umbrella and a deckchair, as well as the possibility to use the shower and rest room .Among the popular parks are Playa San Francisco and Playa Palancar .East, windward, the side of Cozumel attracts kite and simply surfers: the waves there are quite impressive .Beaches partially sandy, partially rocky .
Entertainment, excursions and attractions of Cozumel
The underwater world is the first and the main thing that should be mentioned among the local sights. The island is open a lot of diving centers, offering to immerse themselves in corals and fish divers at any level. The underwater coral tunnels of Punta Sur and Santa Rosa, the Barracuda reef and the vertical walls of Maracaibo Deep (up to 50 m deep) are considered one of the best (but dangerous!) Dive sites in the country. And for tourists with hydrophobia there is a separate option for exploring the underwater life - a boat trip with a transparent bottom.
On the island there are several Mayan ruins: in the town of San Gervasio and Punta Sur at the southern tip of Cozumel, where the ancient lighthouse is located.
