I would like to not waste time to visit 2-3 excursions during the trip to Mexico. ±$ $
We are going to Cancun and want to choose 2-3 places that you can visit. And we want to rent a car and visit these places on our own, without extra tour. Please advise that it is better and more likely to visit this way?

Unfortunately, the tourist crowd will not be able to escape altogether, since the most interesting is almost always the most popular in Mexico.
I can advise:

  1. Chichen Itza - the sacred city of the Maya. The Kukulkan pyramid, located in this archaeological area, is included in the new list of 7 wonders of the World, and here is the largest field for ritual ball games. Nearby is the Ike-Kil Cenote - a karst lake where you can swim, I would even say, you must swim.
  2. Tulum and Shel-Ha - archaeological zone, the so-called ancient Mayan port and ecological park.
  3. Ecological and entertaining park "Shkaret" with a magnificent evening performance. The musical costume show presents the history of Mexico from pre-Hispanic times to the present day.

Also, as an option, I advise you to look at the archaeological zones of Ek-Balam or Koba, it will be interesting.
