Entertainment, excursions and attractions of Budva
Most of the sights are in the Old Town, which is surrounded by a powerful fortress wall and pierces the narrow winding streets. In the center is the city citadel, where the museum is now located. Near the citadel there are three ancient churches: St. John (7th century, with subsequent rebuildings), St. Mary (Crkva Santa Marija, 840) - the only surviving building from the monastery that existed here once and the Church of the Holy Trinity (1804).
To the west of St. John's Cathedral, on the Starogradsky Square (Starogradski) is the Archaeological Museum, which includes about three thousand historical items found in the territory of Budva .Opposite the museum, on the other side of the square is the church of St. .Trinity (Crkva Sv .Trojice), even further - the area of the churches (Trg Crkava) with a small cathedral of the 14th century St. .Sawa (Crkva Sv .Save) .In addition, it is worth to stroll along the city wall and go to the Square of Poets (Trg Poete), which is located at the intersection of Negosva and Zanovuci streets .In summer, almost every evening writers and poets read their works to the gathered public .
In the vicinity there is a picturesque ensemble of the island of St. Stefan, as well as Orthodox monasteries.
Paragliding (760 m above sea level) can be practiced in the town of Brajici, or book a lesson with an instructor in one of the agencies offering services on the promenade.
Bungee jumping, 40 meters high, is located near the cave, at the end of the Slavic beach. In addition, in Budva you can ride a water motorcycle (in Becici) and even dive. The resort has several dive centers; one Galiola dive site (maximum depth - 24 m) is located near the island of St. Nicholas, another Platamuni (maximum depth - 35 m) - near the beach of Yaz. The cultural life of the city is rich in events, numerous theatrical and musical festivals take place here, and from the beginning of July until August 20 poets come to Budva from all over the country. At this time, the ancient fortress Citadel, which is located in the old town, becomes a stage for the performance of theatrical companies from Serbia and Montenegro, as well as from other countries. The annual festival "Grad-Theater" is also held here.
And on the territory of one of the attractions of Budva - a stone table and a chair - in summer there are also festivals. And, sitting behind this "furniture", the poets also read their opuses. Photo of Budva (30)
