Do I need a visa when traveling to Montenegro via Rome?

When answering your question, I explain the following: if you do not leave the transit zone at Rome airport, you do not need a visa.
If you plan to go outside the transit zone in Rome, you will need a visa.
To obtain a visa to Italy you need documents:
- passport, with a validity of at least 3 months after the end of the trip ,
- photocopy of the first page is "charged",
- all available and expired passports,
- photocopy of the first page and with borders with a residence permit,
- one photo 3x4 cm,
- a completed and signed in English or Italian application form.
