Warsaw (Warsaw) - the capital of Poland since 1596. The center of the city was almost completely destroyed by the Nazis during the Second World War. After carefully restored and, as an exemplary example of scientific restoration, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
And yet Warsaw is not the main attraction point for tourists in Poland, where it is used more often for transit purposes, or to see with its own eyes how much the city suffered during the war, and how great was the effort to repair the evil .In addition to excellent museums and restored historic buildings, Warsaw can not but attract: its cozy cafes, the picturesque waterfront of the Vistula, the charming architecture of the center and even modern skyscrapers that recently "grow" in the city like mushrooms after a rain..

Areas of Warsaw
Warsaw, like all the major historical cities, stands on the river, and her name is Wisla. The river divides the capital of Poland into two parts, flowing from north to south. On the left bank - the old city and most of the attractions and hotels, the right bank is less interesting for tourists, there are residential areas here.
The center of Warsaw includes the districts Śródmieście, Wola, Mokotów, Żoliborz, Ochota, Praga Północ and Praga Południe - a mix of modern architecture, industrial "bald spots" and fashionable residential areas. Most of the time tourists spend in the center of the city, which is not surprising: here are most of the attractions, hotels, shops and restaurants. Most of them are in the districts of Śródmieście, Wola and Mokotów.
Northern Warsaw is the low-lying areas of Bielany and Białołęka. Western Warsaw consists of the districts of Bemowo, Włochy and Ursus, and just as little that an interesting tourist can show.
But in the south of the city (Ursynów and Wilanów) you can see the palace Wilanów. And in Ursynów there is a historical national park and reserve, which was hosted by the European College in the Potock Palace. And, finally, Eastern Warsaw, in which travelers have nothing to do, consisting of the districts Targówek, Rembertów, Wawer and Wesoła.
