How to get to Zaragoza
Since there are no direct flights from Russia to Zaragoza, it is easiest to get to the city from Madrid or Barcelona by train, bus or car. All trains and buses arrive at the station "Delisias". From the station to the city center you can get on the city bus number 34 or 51 or by taxi (10 minutes, about € 10).
- By train
From Madrid on the high-speed train AVE (1 h. 30 min., About € 50) or from Barcelona from the Barcelona Sants station on the high-speed AVE (1 hour 45 min, about € 60).

- By bus

The climate here is continental inland with cold winters and hot summers. As a rule, only Sierso is worried about the local residents - the north-west cold dry wind. Most of the precipitation (and there are quite a few of them) falls on the spring months. In July and August, the air warms up to +40 ° C, and in the winter stably keeps between 0 and 10 ° C.
In Zaragoza, it is best to go in the spring - from April to mid-June. July days exhaust the heat and tourists, and the local population, although in the evenings the streets are crowded: the majority choose to dine in the city or meet their friends over a glass of wine or beer. In August, the city practically freezes - many leave for a holiday on the coast or in the mountains - and most of the restaurants, cafes and bars are closed.
Cuisine and restaurants of Zaragoza
Zaragoza cuisine is well known throughout Spain. Be sure to try the local dishes: cod with garlic and eggs (Bacalao al Ajoarriero), toasted young lamb (Ternasco Asado), eggs with asparagus sauce (Huevos al Salmorejo), chicken with sauce of ham, tomatoes, onions and paprika (Pollo al Chilindrón).
In Zaragoza, you should go for tapas bars (from tapas - snacks). Most of them are concentrated in Casco Viejo - so here is called the Old Town. Visit the "Calle de los mártires" and "Taberna de Doña Casta" - these establishments offer an excellent selection of snacks, mainly from mushrooms, eggs, cheese and ham.
If you prefer seafood, then you at the Casa de Mar in Eusebio Blasco is the favorite bar of the locals.
Shopping
Shopping in Zaragoza is a real attraction. Yes, it's not Milan, but there are enough decent seats here. The most exquisite shops are located on the streets of Francisco de Vitoria, San Ignacio de Lajola, Cádiz, Isaac-Peral and Cádiz; more democratic - on the streets of Don Jaime and Alfonso. Almost all souvenir shops are located in the town of Antiquaryos in the Plaza de San Brun.
The doors of most shops and shopping centers (Independence, Puerta Sinegia, El Corte Inglés) are open to visitors from 10 to 20-21 hours. Winter sales continue from the first week of January to the end of February, and summer sales from July 1 until the end of August.
Entertainment, excursions and attractions of Zaragoza
Zaragoza is a city of "four cultures". To understand what the capital of Aragon is, it is worth studying at least a masterpiece from each of these cultures. The best place to start a journey through time is Plaza del Pilar. The main "must see" (the top list is given below) are concentrated here and throughout the historical center - Casco Viejo.
- It is believed that the Baroque Basilica of Nuestra Señora del Pilar, whose walls are painted with master hands of Francisco Goya, is a symbol and legend of the city.
- The Gothic cathedral of San Salvador, or simply Catedral de la Seo, is a Renaissance monument built on the site of a former mosque in the 14th century.
- Alhaferia Palace is a masterpiece of Moorish style. Originally it was the residence of Arab rulers, but after the expulsion of the Moors from Spain, the palace was "adapted" for the Catholic kings - inside they created a special throne room.
- La Lonja is a former 16th century exchange building, and today it is the main expo center.
- The Roman walls - despite their considerable age (more than 18 centuries) are well preserved and deservedly are the main attraction of the city.

Festivals
The main city holiday with performances, installations, animation and concerts is the El Pilar festival, which takes place annually during the week that falls on October 12th. This is also the best time to watch the bullfight in Zaragoza.
The Easter week in Zaragoza is a bright theatrical procession in the center of the city, in which several hundred faithful women are dressed in black robes and men in hooded robes playing on drums.
