Swedish restaurants received 21 Michelin stars, setting a new personal record . 18 restaurants in Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmö were awarded with the quality marks of the most authoritative restaurant guide of the world Michelin Guide Nordic Cities 2015.
The newly published guide included 6 new restaurants - Volt in Stockholm, Koka and SK Mat & Människor in Gothenburg, Ambiance à Vindåkra, Bloom in the Park and Vollmers in Malmö. It is noteworthy that the restaurants of Malmö, Sweden's third largest city, received honorary marks for the first time. In Stockholm, three restaurants now boast two stars - the already legendary restaurants Frantzen and Mathias Dahlgren-Matsalen, and also received his second star Oaxen Krog.
"We are happy to present our readers with even more decent restaurants in the Nordic countries , including in new cities. A new wave of Scandinavian cuisine has really raised the bar of high cuisine in this part of the world. And the amazingly fertile Swedish province of Skåne provides Malmö's restaurants with the highest quality products, "Rebecca Burr, editor of Michelin Guide Nordic Cities 2015, said.
