The Hungarian mountains are not particularly high, the ski resorts are at a minimum: there are altogether 51 trails.

The best mountain ski resort in Hungary is the Matra mountain range, 100 km from Budapest. Here on the peaks of Kekesto (1014 m) and Gagliateto (965 m) snow lies 80-100 days a year. In total, there are 6 trails on the Matra with a total length of 3500 m with a height difference of up to 146 m, 3 lifts, there is a toboggan run.

The Bancut ski park in the Bük mountain range, 30 km from the town of Miskolc, is hardly inferior to the popularity of Matre. This is the north of Hungary, the snow lies until the end of March. There are 8 trails for skiers of different levels, sledge and cross-country tracks, 8 ski lifts and a "children's lift" for the skiers.

The slopes of Magas Hill in the area of ​​Satoral'iauyhei near the border with Slovakia are the longest trails in Hungary. The longest lift in the country (1332 m) is also built here.

The only place suitable for international skiing competitions is the Nograd district.
