What documents are needed for a visa to Italy?

If the visa to Italy is made through a travel agency, you must provide the following package of documents:

  • a valid passport, valid for at least 3 months after the end of the trip,
  • photocopy of the first page of the passport,
  • all previous passports (terminated and canceled),
  • copy of the internal passport (first page and page with residence permit)
  • 1 photo 3x4 cm (colored on a white background, made no earlier than 6 months before the submission of documents),
  • completed and signed personally by the applicant application form (to be completed in English or Italian). You can download the application form for obtaining a visa to Italy and a sample of its completion on the site of the Visa Center of Italy in Moscow.
  • a certificate from the place of employment on the letterhead of the organization, indicating the address and telephone number, the position held, the date of enrollment and salary (preferably not less than 10,000 RUR), the terms of paid leave, as well as the date of issuance of the certificate and the seal of the company. The period of validity of the certificate is not more than two weeks from the date of issue.
  • financial guarantees (one of the listed documents):
    • the original statement from the currency account with the credit card number assigned to it, plus a photocopy of this "credit card."
    • a copy of the nominal savings bank account (currency or ruble deposit). All account statements must be no older than one month, the last movement of the account - not later than a month before departure.
    • traveler's checks.
    • the original of the receipt with the indication of the tourist's name, the date of departure to Italy and the one hundred percent payment for the tour.

If the tourist makes out the visa independently, in addition to the above-mentioned documents it is necessary to provide:

  • the original and a copy of tickets (air, railway) round-trip or ticket reservation card with air or railway ticket offices, or electronic tickets;
  • confirmation of the hotel reservation (original or fax copy made on roll fax paper) with the seal and signature of the responsible employee, the address and telephone numbers of the hotel, the cost and confirmation of the prepayment of the hotel, or the original invitation from the host party with the stamp and signature of the responsible employee, or a voucher the Italian travel company;
  • in the case of a private visit - an application (original and copy) of the inviting party (relatives or friends) on a special form for housing for the period of stay in Italy (lettera di invito) .An invitation from a private person is enclosed with a copy of the passport of an Italian citizen or a person holding a residence permit (permesso di soggiorno) in this country..The invitation should indicate the time of travel, the degree of relationship or the nature of the relationship with the inviter, the exact address of the applicant's stay is .The inviter must also ensure that he assumes all responsibility (housing, financial or medical assistance) for the applicant's stay in the country,
  • medical insurance (original and copy), valid throughout the Schengen area for the entire period of the trip, the amount of coverage of which is not less than 30 thousand EUR.
